[Update: The Course Registration is Closing TODAY (Thu 17th Mar) - So you need to act quickly if you want to take part]
I’ve got something really exciting to tell to you about today – so be sure to read carefully!
Would you like to make the move from music and songwriting being just a hobby into it becoming a proper career? Or maybe it already is your career but you are fed up of just scraping by.
Let me introduce you to a friend of ours – Sarah Gavigan.
Sarah is a MUSIC SUPERVISOR for Commercials and has placed literally thousands of bands’ music in adverts in her 12 years in the music licensing industry.
She is the person you would have to persuade to take your music and use it in her clients’ TV commercials. Imagine hearing your music on TV!
What frustrates her is that most artists go about trying to get their music licensed in completely the wrong way and are shooting themselves in the foot time and time again.
Imagine how valuable it would be if you could just speak to Sarah for an hour over a cup of coffee. Imagine all the valuable information she would be able to teach you. How she could tell you the best way to pitch your music to people like her – including all of the insider tips and tricks that she must know. It would be invaluable right?
Well there’s something even better in store for you!
Sarah has been working really hard over the last 12 months creating an online course that will teach you step by step exactly what you need to do to get your music licensed in TV commercials.
I’ve seen what she is going to be teaching and it looks like it’s going to be an amazing experience for anyone that takes part and I’m sure it will be a life changing experience for some of the people who work hard and put everything that Sarah teaches them into practice.
Sarah’s Course “Get Your Music Licensed in Commercials” is launching this week and she is only taking a limited number of students because she will be giving individual feedback to every person taking part.
If you go across to Sarah’s website you can watch a free video that gives you a complete strategy for getting your music licensed in commercials including this great information:
- The main reason that most artists fail when trying to get their music licensed
- Why so often artist’s emails never even reach the music supervisor – and how to overcome this problem
- How to work out which ads and brands will be right for your own kind of music
- How to find the right people to contact regarding getting your music placed
- What you should and shouldn’t put in your emails to music supervisors
- How to make sure that your email grabs the music supervisor’s attention when they get so many other emails
- How to gain and maintain trust and rapport with a music supervisor to create a long term relationship where you become a trusted source of music for them
It’s well worth watching this video for the valuable information it contains – even if you don’t intend to take the course.

Ethical Statement: If you do decide to go ahead and take the course we will get a commission from Sarah. This money will help us run the Songwriting Community.
However, we would never recommend anything to you if we hadn’t checked it out and didn’t feel that it would give you real value. We have spent much too much time over the last 2 years building up this community to risk its reputation like that.
Sarah is the real deal – and it’s not often that you get the opportunity to learn from someone in her position.

[Update: Sarah has now release a new free video entitled "How to Get a Music Supervisor to Pay Attention to You" - well worth watching for all the free tips.]
Once you have watched the video, come back and let us know what you thought and what the most important thing was that you learnt.

Great introduction to the principles of marketing your music for licensing.
As a non-touring musician, the popular opinion that musicians in the digital age should focus on touring and merchandising for the majority of our income does not register completely to me. Not all of us are available for touring – some of us have strict physical and geographical considerations and responsibilities. One of the solutions to obtain a living and still channel our passion as musicians is to get our music licensed.
Sara does a wonderful job of cutting to the point – her presentation is succinct and she has a no-nonsense approach. One hurdle that I personally might have is how to translate her steps into my local industry – which is halfway around the world from the L.A/New York/Nashville centers (I’m from Indonesia). I believe by following through her guide, the same principles should also return results that would allow me to maintain a career as a musician with minimum touring.
Thanks for the video tutorial Sara, and thanks to RavenousRaven/SongwritingLab for referring to her video!
Cheers and thanks for the ears,
Endy
